DOMESTIC VIOLENCE DEFINED

Domestic Violence isn’t just hitting or fighting or an occasional mean argument. It involves nonphysical, non-sexual tactics batterers use in order to control the survivor, the physical or sexual violence has to happen only once. These tactics help achieve the batterer’s goal of control. The abuser tortures and controls the victim by calculated threats, intimidation, and physical violence. Actual physical violence is often the end result of months or years of intimidation and control. There is called a campaign of violence.
